A good basic definition of support is “to hold in position so as to keep from falling, sinking, or slipping.” I cannot think of single person I know that does not need support of one kind or another-emotional, social, spiritual, financial, medical, legal-at some point in their life. This is especially true when one is dealing with serious medical challenges.
So I have a request. Can you think of one resource-a website, an organization, an event, a blog, etc-that you have learned about in your travels with corneal disease that you think others might appreciate knowing about? If so, please send it along so it can be a source of support for another!
I’ll get us started with this one: FamilyConnect, a resource for parents of children with visual impairments, has compiled a list of support groups in over 30 different US states giving opportunities for children and families to share information and experiences through face-to-face meetings, telephone support, or electronic groups.
Let us know if you made use of that list and what your experience was. And, please, don’t forget to share a support you think others could use!

Managed by Rebecca Petris, I cannot say enough good things about the value of this site! Thanks for sharing it!!
I’d highly recommend Jason Jedlicka, OD, in Edina (used to be Wayzata) MN.
his contact information:

Thank you for this! It is worth noting that Dr. Jedlicka is also part of the Scleral Lens Education Society, a group “committed to teaching contact lens practitioners the science and art of fitting all designs of scleral contact lenses.”
