Of interest to our community members with GVHD and their families and caregivers is the upcoming 2011 National GvHD Health Symposium on Friday, November 4, in Cleveland, Ohio.
This all-day informational event will focus on the most recent research related to the causes, treatment, and management of GvHD. Two tracks will be presented: one for BMT survivors and their families and caregivers and the other for health-care professionals for which continuing education credit will be offered.
Take advantage of this wonderful opportunity to network with leading health-care providers who specialize in GvHD and to learn about the most recent developments in this field. Some of the sessions most relevant to our BFS GvHD patients and their families include:
- An Ophthalmologist’s (Very) Close Encounters with Graft vs. Host Disease
- Coping with the Stress of GvHD
- Dry Eyes
- Chronic GVHD and its impact on long-term survivorship
This event is free to survivors and their families, but registration by November 2 is required. Conference materials and food will be provided for the seminar.
