Telephone Education and Support Group for Coping with Chronic Graft Versus Host Disease

In our previous post, we talked about types of support groups, why you might consider one, and how to locate and evaluate the available choices. Here is a great support opportunity for our community members with chronic GVHD.

The National Bone Marrow Transplant Link (nbmtLINK) is offering a free 4-week Telephone Education and Support Group on four consecutive Tuesdays starting April 10, 2012 through May 1, 2012 from 7:00 – 8:15 pm (EST) for survivors and caregivers who are coping with the late effects of chronic Graft versus Host Disease (cGvHD).

This group will be facilitated by Sandra Mitchell, PhD, CRNP, AOP and Mike Krumlauf, RN, BSN from the National Institutes of Health. The topics covered over four weeks will include:

*     Overview of Chronic Graft versus Host Disease

*     Understanding and Living with Chronic Graft versus Host Disease

*     Exploring Options for Improving Health and Well-being

*     Facing Forward:  Developing Your Personal Plan for Managing Chronic Graft versus Host Disease and Living Well

Registration is currently open and the number of participants is limited, so act quickly to reserve your spot. To register or inquire about this group, please contact Tiffany Rowe via email or phone (800-546-5268).
